Rico says: Part 6, Come out to play

On a muggy day a man ran in the park. Hot as hell and wet to the touch he sweat through his grey sweatshirt. He wore whitey tighties with tube socks rising above his clean blue running shoes. Running past others he reached his hand in the air requesting high fives and was turned down by 6 different people.

He goes out all night and runs all day because since she’s been gone he can now do whatever he wants. The freedom is like fireworks and the more he steps outside of his box and tries something new the wider his smile grows and faster he runs.

His relationship was successful but he felt something under his skin. Lack of love or lack of passion is how you might put it. It’s too bad it ended because they could’ve done amazing things together. He brought more to her than she ever expected and she gave him awards for it. She praised him in front of others and wrote personalized notes saying thank you for being amazing and making us look great. You’re going to do incredible things and the sky’s the ceiling, she would say.

It may seem like he’s losing his mind running in underpants but he’s exploring life. He turned up the music on his headphones when ‘Dear Prudence’ by The Beatles came on.

“Dear Prudence, won’t you come out to play

Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day

The sun is up, the sky is blue

It’s beautiful and so are you

Dear Prudence won’t you come out to play

He pictured the song without you and everything made sense. Now he can spend his money on other woman and she can steal from someone else.

He ended his run with a last attempt for a high five. Raising his hand diagonally in the air he approached the guy closer and closer.

Now, who in the hell would high five a complete stranger sweating through their shirt and wearing whitey tighties?

Well, Rico would. Of course.
